What this policy covers

This policy explains how the G1 Compass iOS app, Android app, and website handle information when you use their Ontario G1 practice questions, simulations, and related features.

It applies only to G1 Compass. Links to other websites are governed by those websites' own privacy practices.

Information stored on your device

G1 Compass uses your browser's local storage on the website, Apple's UserDefaults storage in the iOS app, and Android's DataStore storage in the Android app to remember settings such as:

• whether optional question images are shown;
• your preferred feedback level;
• whether you selected practice or simulation mode;
• your most recently selected practice test; and
• in the iOS and Android apps, whether onboarding is complete and haptic feedback is enabled.
• in the Android app, a Google Play purchase token may be stored temporarily so an interrupted tip can be completed and consumed; it is removed after processing succeeds.

This information remains in your browser or app installation. The Android app excludes its local preferences and purchase-retry state from cloud backup and device transfer. You can remove it by clearing this site's stored data in your browser settings, deleting the iOS or Android app, or clearing the Android app's storage in your device settings.

Analytics and technical information

G1 Compass does not require an account and does not include a form for submitting your name, email address, or quiz answers. The current versions do not use advertising cookies, mobile advertising IDs, or cross-app tracking.

The website uses Vercel Web Analytics to measure anonymous page views and understand aggregate traffic. It may process the page visited, timestamp, referrer, general location, browser, operating system, and device type. Vercel Web Analytics does not use cookies, and its anonymous visitor identifier is discarded after 24 hours.

Like most websites, the hosting provider may automatically process limited technical information needed to deliver and secure the website, such as an IP address, browser type, request time, and requested page. Apple and Google may process information related to downloading, installing, reviewing, or operating the iOS or Android app under their own terms and privacy policies.

Android platform services and external links

The Android app may use Google Play Billing for optional tips and Google Play's in-app review service when those features are available. Google processes any purchase or review through your Google account and its services; G1 Compass does not collect your payment-card details or the text of your review.

When the Android app opens a handbook source, privacy policy, terms page, or another website, it uses an Android Custom Tab when available. The website and browser handle that visit under their own privacy practices. Google Play services and the Play Store may also process technical information needed to provide their platform features.

How information is used and shared

Device preferences are used only to preserve your chosen practice experience. G1 Compass does not sell personal information. We may disclose information if required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect G1 Compass, its users, or others.

Children's privacy

G1 Compass is a general-audience study tool and is not designed to collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through a related support channel, please contact us so it can be addressed.

Changes and questions

We may update this policy when G1 Compass or its data practices change. The effective date at the top of this page shows when this version took effect.
